In XLayers, when referring to the external code (or external coding), the program is referring to a code the user can choose independently for referring to an entity (e.g. Reinsurer, Broker etc.) or type of Agreement (e.g. Treaty, Facultative, Reinsurance plan etc.).
It is called „external“ because it can often be used as a communication coding with other systems that share personal data or information (e.g. Datawarehouse, Portfolio systems, General Accounting Applications).
